Candidate Profile:
•Recognized technical expert within and outside of Client.
•More than ten years experience in the architecture, design, development, and testing of high-volume, high-performance software systems.
•Functional Architecture of Customer Care (CRM) and Billing solutions and how these solutions fit into the overall Enterprise Architecture
•Deep knowledge of one or more telecommunications solution domains (e.g. wireless, cable, wireline, utilities)
•Ability to rapidly develop broad knowledge of Convergys products
•Strong client facing presence and ability to brainstorm solutions interactively
•Recognized or published thought leader on technology and industry trends
•Systems experience must include real time systems, large-scale batch solutions, high volume on-line transaction processing systems, highly available systems, and secure PCI compliant solutions
•Expert knowledge of industry trends and hands-on experience with UNIX, C, C++, Java, Oracle (database, ERP, RAC), CORBA, TIBCO, COM/DCOM, J2EE, HTML, XML/XSL, MTS, Weblogic, Websphere, . This knowledge must include an understanding of the dependencies and interrelationships of these technologies.
•Working knowledge and experience are required in three-tiered billing and customer care system architectures and design.
•Excellent technical, analysis, communications, mentoring, and teamwork skills a must.
•Must have proficiency with various software applications including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Visio or other solution diagramming packages, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
The Director Architecture is responsible for providing strategic technical consulting on systems architecture and technology. This position will oversee senior manager architects within Client on issues relating to systems architecture; performance; scalability; and environmental procedures.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•Consult with senior executives on technology trends and their potential relevance to the needs of our clients and impact to our solutions.
•Develop systems architecture and new technology designs/blueprints
•Consult with senior executives at a CxO level on technical issues relating to strategic due diligence efforts.
•Provide industry thought leadership on key design decisions, while carefully weighing TCO and timeline/risk impacts
•Assist in coaching solutions architects at the senior manager level and below.
•Lead internal technical review teams to ensure product architectures and architecture evolution plans are aligned with the Client product roadmap as well as technology trends of Client clients . Provide an assessment back to the Executive Team of gaps that may exist and create an action plan to close them.
•Participate in external conferences and trade shows to provide the technical background to our product presentations.
•Develop guidelines on how to present the architecture and technologies of our product line to ensure consistency in client presentations.
•Responsible for establishing and clearly communicating departmental strategy to management team; providing feedback regarding tactical operations for department including budgeting, goal setting, and managing performance; following organization’s policies and applicable legal requirements; determining and implementing appropriate staffing and customer interaction guidelines for work team(s); and monitoring performance leading to successful results.
•Architectural responsibility for developing reference solutions that can be applied to multiple client opportunities
oArchitecting complex end-to-end functional solutions Liaising with Clients' product architecture teams, ensuring proposed solutions are consistent with Clients’ capabilities and technology direction
Supporting the business capture process in developing winning technical solutions for Clients’ clients that integrate into their overall enterprise Presenting reference solutions on client sites both during business capture and implementations. |
